The Final Two Days

Always the toughest part of the visit.

August 5th

Well, this past weekend was our last full two days together for this trip. We went to see Underdog on Saturday afternoon, and Sunday we went to Sonic for a Wacky Pack with grape slush. We managed to have some fun at the park before it got too hot.

July 12: A Message to Mommy

July 9-12

July 9th

Thunderstorms kept us from doing anything outside, so we went out to eat, made a trip to Wally World, and spent the rest of the night at home coloring and playing games on the computer.

July 10th

More thunderstorms, so we made Sloppy Joes and watched Shrek 2 at home with Cousin Emma.

July 11th

Finally, a clear day, but it was very hot. That didn't stop us from going to the park and playing on the swings and throwing around a frisbee. We bought a "Floppy Flyer", a rubber frisbee that is easy to throw and easy to catch. We had a lot of fun with it and played with it for over an hour. After forking out $15 for a ball and paddle set Andrea played with for 5 minutes last year, the Floppy Flyer is the best (and smartest) $1 I ever spent.

July 12th

More rain, so we drove around and ran a few errands after I got off of work. At home, Andrea and Emma built stuff with Legos and finished up the night watching a few old Bugs Bunny cartoons.

4th of July

No rain, so we headed to the park first thing. It got hot after a couple of hours, so we headed to Grandma's house, then to buy fireworks, then home to relax for a while.

Later in the evening we went to Great Grandpa Sloan's and lit a few fireworks to finish off the day.

Day 3 (July 2)

I had to work, so Andrea stayed at daycare. When I picked her up, it was raining, so we couldn't do much. She spent the afternoon painting with Cousin Emma, watching Scooby-Doo, and we made a short video of Andrea dancing to "Love Her Madly" by the Doors.

Day 2 (July 1)

We just spent a quiet Sunday at the house after doing a little grocery shopping. Andrea colored and played with her cousin while I did the dreaded laundry.

Day 1 (June 30)

She arrived in the Memphis Airport at 1:05 PM. We went to Beale Street and had lunch at The Pig before the long ride home. Road construction turned the three hour drive home into a five hour drive. Andrea slept for three of the five hours, but swore she just had her eyes closed for a minute.
